LumberjAXE is currently looking to hire outgoing, energetic, and most importantly responsible axe throwing coaches! The coach responsibilities will be, but not limited to, facilitating a friendly and safe environment, teaching proper safety techniques, and ultimately making this a memorable experience for the customer.
Don't worry if you have never thrown an axe because there is NO experience needed! Likely applicants will have backgrounds in coaching, teaching, hospitality, or any mix that you may feel qualify! We will provide all the techniques needed to wield an axe and the proper knowledge to facilitate a truly LumberjAXE experience.
Duties include:
- Safety: Ensure all safety guidelines, protocols, and equipment requirements are met without compromise.
- Coaching: Train and guide customers new and old through our proper axe throwing instructions and provide continued coaching to ensure their axe throwing experience is a memorable one. Make sure groups are beginning and ending on time.
- Equipment/Facility: Ensure all equipment (targets, lanes, axes, etc.) are all ready for sessions. Set up for tournament/leagues, game scoring/facilitating and other duties assigned.
- Other duties: Customer sales (merchandise, ticketing etc), participant check-in/out, set-up/clean-up, etc. as needed. Cooking minimal food may be required. We will train everyone on this!
Qualifications and Skills
-Must be 21 years of age or older
-Excellent communications skills, speaks clearly and concisely, good sense of humor, is a people person.
-Leadership skills are a must. Confident/take charge personality in group settings. Ability to manage group dynamics.
-Works well as a team and with others. Inclusiveness for coworkers and participants.
-Proactive thinking and action are a must. Does not wait for problems to occur.
-Experience preferred in entertainment, recreation, hospitality, coaching.
-Enthusiasm and reliability. You will be expected to run your groups with little interference from management. You are the coach and responsible for the group.
-Must be available to work evening/weekends.
-Must be able to lift 60lbs, bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run.
